Marine Radar
Utilizing microwave radio waves, this essential device detects objects such as other vessels and islands at sea, ensuring safe navigation during nighttime or in dense fog conditions.
Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS)
A device that displays electronic charts as mandated by the IMO. It offers a variety of functions, including route planning and the display of various navigational information.
Plotter Device
A device that integrates with electronic positioning systems such as radar and GPS to overlay navigational information on simplified chart data.
VHF Radiotelephone System
A radio device that communicates over very high frequency (VHF) bands, typically used for short-range communication. It is also utilized for distress, emergency, and safety communications.
MF/HF Radiotelephone System

NAVTEX Receiver

GPS

Automatic Identification System (AIS)
A device that transmits and receives information such as vessel name, position, course, and speed, enabling accurate monitoring of other vessels navigating the sea.
Fish Finder
A device that uses sonar technology to display information about fish schools and seabed conditions on a screen.
Sonar
A device that detects fish schools by displaying desired directions, such as forward, lateral, or diagonal, relative to the vessel.
Gyrocompass
A high-precision device that consistently points to true north by combining a rapidly spinning gyroscope with a directive element and a damping mechanism.
Autopilot System
A device connected to heading sensors such as a gyrocompass, which automatically maintains the vessel’s bow in the preset course direction while minimizing rudder movement.
Voyage Data Recorder (VDR)
A device that records navigation data and onboard information related to vessel operation. It is used to investigate causes of maritime accidents, including human errors, and to develop future accident prevention measures.
Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon (EPIRB)
A distress signaling device installed on vessels that automatically transmits a distress signal when the vessel is in distress, utilizing polar orbiting satellites.
